AWWA Members Come Together To Mark 25 Years of service
The Akurana Women Welfare Association (AWWA) recently held a members’ meeting at the home of one of its members in Akurana, bringing together members for a memorable gathering.
The meeting was opened by AWWA President, Mrs. Thasmina Mansour, who welcomed the members and highlighted the importance of continuing the association’s work in supporting women and the community. The minutes of the previous meeting were presented by the Secretary, Mrs. Subaida, followed by the presentation of the financial accounts by the Treasurer, Mrs. Zahira Sulaiman.
A key item on the agenda was the formal handover of funds received from the recent AWWA Fundraiser Dinner held in Melbourne, Australia. Members were briefed on the success of the fundraiser and the support received from the community abroad.
The meeting also featured an address by AWWA Patron, Mrs. Marliya Zubair. In recognition of her dedication and many years of service to the organization, a special felicitation was held to express appreciation for her valuable contributions to AWWA and its mission.
A highlight of the day was the celebration of AWWA’s 25th anniversary. Members gathered to mark this important milestone with a cake-cutting ceremony, reflecting on the organization’s journey, achievements, and the many individuals who have contributed to its growth over the past twenty-five years.
The gathering provided an opportunity for members to share ideas, discuss future activities, and strengthen the spirit of friendship and cooperation that has guided AWWA since its establishment.
As AWWA celebrates 25 years of service, the association remains committed to empowering women, supporting families, and contributing positively to the wider community.
