External Relations

The success of a welfare association depends on multi focus areas. AWWA as a successful welfare association pays attention on programs of external relations too. The external relation programs contains various events and visits.

AWWA members organize their visits to the places such as school of Differently abled children and school of orphan children, and supports the needy. The visit to “Pearls of Paradise” a school of orphans and destitute situated in Watadeniya, Kandy on 2017 is notable.

AWWA recognizes contemporary issues and takes steps to eradicate them. After noticing the huge increase in divorce rate in Akurana region AWWA organized a discussion program on ‘Divorce’ which focused the causes of divorce and how it can be reduced. Dr. Fazliya Thaha successfully carried out the program.

The success of AWWA reached the Kandurata FM and AWWA members were invited for an interview program on 2011. The program was broadcast on Kandurata FM. Further Sri Lankan Broadcasting Corporation too granted us an opportunity to participate in “Madhar Majlis” which is a well-known radio program which highlights the talents of women. Proudly those were great inspirations for all other women’s associations.

Exhibitions also took place under external relations programs which promoted the handcraft skills of AWWA members. The exhibition was held at the District Secretariat auditorium of Akurana.
